Power Distribution

Power from outside enters the building via the 208V feeder box on the west wall of the work area under the dome. Power to the whole building can be switched off here. It the passes through a lightning protection circuit, then to the main circuit breaker panels.

What the UPSs power

Telescope: (2200VA)

Sidereal drive, RA guide motions
Relay Box, (necessary for any telescope or dome motion)
4x4 Filter wheel and shutter.
Vacuum pump in dome

Dome Console (1400VA)

All equipment plugged into the long "pink" power strips on the observing console in the dome. (eg monitor, KVM transceiver, sidereal clock, guider xy stage)

Computer room

All computers (except Koala), and other computer equipment on the computer rack.

Living Room

Koala, and its monitors, ILS and Sbig video monitors all on the east west the monitor

Diagnostics

The relays make a loud clunk when telescope is connected
You should be able to hear when all is on for observing:
- Relay box fan
- 4x4 box fan
- CCD controller fan
The shutter opens slowly then shuts when 4x4 power turned on
