Halley's comet (and all comets) are slowly evaporating every time they come near the Sun.
Halley's comet has a perihelion distance of 0.59 AU (inside Venus' orbit). There are also sungrazing comets, which get very close to the Sun (ie < few hundred thousand kilometers):
